(Level:  Beginner)

4 x 2 hour sessions, One to one, flexible times.
£180

£324 If you'd like to come along with a friend, share the wheel or do some handbuidling.

Who is the class for?
Beginner potters, or you may have done a few classes but would like individual time, and anyone who has attended the taster class.

What you'll learn Wheel-Throwing

You'll be practising cylinder forms, bowls, plates - as a vehicle for showing you some of the principles of throwing. You will also learn to turn/trim your pots.  We will go at your pace, and focus on the things you'd like to throw so that you can gain confidence and practical throwing skills.

The course is designed to improve and expand your skills on the wheel, rather than to accumulate pots!  However there is the option to have your pots glazed & fired, see below.

What you'll learn Hand building

You can continue learning the various hand building methods: pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building.  You can choose what you'd like to focus on in order to create various different types of vessels or art pieces.

All in a supportive and fun environment.

What’s included:
All materials using stoneware clay, tools, equipment.  You can also use coloured slips to decorate your pieces.
Tea/coffee.

Date: A range of dates are available to suit you, from weekdays, evenings or weekends, email to dicuss a time preference and book your slot.

Some suggestions for you:

  • You may want to bring your own apron. You’re welcome to do this, but we do have one for you to use.

  • Wear clothes you don't mind getting splashed - all materials wash out easily though.

  • It's easier to throw if you have short fingernails - longer nails get in the way of your enjoyment!
