Individual 1 to 1 Wheel-Throwing Taster Classes
(Level: Beginner)

2 hour class, One to one, flexible times.

Individual 1 to 1 Wheel-Throwing Course: 4 Weeks
(Level – beginner)


4 x 2 hour sessions, One to one, flexible times.

Who is the class for?
Beginner potters, or you may have done a few classes but would like individual time, and anyone who has attended the taster class. 

What you'll learn

You'll be practising cylinder forms, bowls, plates - as a vehicle for showing you some of the principles of throwing. You will also learn to turn/trim your pots.  We will go at your pace, and focus on the things you'd like to throw so that you can gain confidence and practical throwing skills.  All in a supportive and fun environment.

The course is designed to improve and expand your skills on the wheel, rather than to accumulate pots!  However there is the option to have one or two pots from each session glazed & fired at a fee of £5  per pot.

These classes are for adults, aged 18 and over

Some suggestions for you:
 

  • You may want to bring your own apron. You’re welcome to do this, but we do have one for you to use. 

  • Wear clothes you don't mind getting splashed - all materials wash out easily though.

  • It's easier to throw if you have short fingernails - longer nails get in the way of your enjoyment!

Cancellation Policy:
Cancelling the Course

  • If you want to cancel your course I will offer you alternative dates. Please, however, give us as much notice as possible i.e. more than 14 days prior to the start of the course.

  • If you still want to cancel the whole course before your classes start, £50 of each place booked will be regarded as a non-refundable deposit. 
    Cancelling a class

  • If requested with 3 days notice of your class, I will try, ​where possible to rearrange the session within the same week without forfeiting your fee.  Please note this is subject to availability.

  • Once you have planned your class dates, if for any reason you cannot attend a class you can cancel this up to 7 full days before the date of the class, without forteiting your fee.

  • If you cancel less than 7 days I will only be able to refund 50% of your fee. 

  • If you give less than 24 hours notice of wanting to cancel I won't be able to refund the fee for that class.  This is because I have made that time available in my working week for you and your class. 

  • If I need to cancel I will give a full refund, or postponement of the class according to your preference.

Terms & Conditions.

  • The fees for the Individual 1 to 1 Wheel-Throwing Taster Class & Individual 1 to 1 Wheel-Throwing Course: 4 Weeks, are paid in full, in advance of the first session. 

  • Missed sessions, without notification, are non refundable.  See Cancellation Policy.

  • Payments types accepted : bank transfer, card payments in person prior to course, or cheque.  

  • Pottery firing costs are additional and payable at the end of tuition.  Costs are £5 per pot.  You will be notified once your pottery has been fired and is ready to collect using the contact details provided.  

  • Postal of pottery is available if paid for in advance.

  • Collection of completed fired pottery must be within 6 weeks from date of notification.  (My studio is unable to store uncollected work)

  • You will need to be able to attend classes in my studio in the Seton Park, L17 area of Liverpool, UK.
